Sri Anantha Padma Nabha Swamy Temple

A single piece of stone idol, 19 feet length and 8 feet width of Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy in Yoga Nidra is undoubtedly a sculpture with superlative craftsmanship.

All the three forms of the Almighty, Shiva in the Linga form on the right hand side of Padmanabha, the creator, Four faced, Sri Brahma seated on a lotus emanating from the navel of Vishnu, herein referred to as Anantha Padmanabha Swamy. Thus, all 3 forms – Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara can be seen in one sculpture.

Lord Vishnu, in the yoga mudra posture with Sridevi and Bhudevi lovingly pressing his feet. We can also see Garuda the vehicle of the Lord,” Aadisesha “the bed of snakes protected by the hood, the celestial deities Brihaspati, Lord Indra, Sukra, the Sun, Ashwins, the twin deities and the Moon, all at one place, is indeed an unmatchably sweet experience.

One has the rare opportunity to see, not only the Trinity but also all their consorts, Mahakali, Maha Saraswathi and Maha Lakshmi within the same temple premises. It is said that such a rare darshan not only absolves one of sins and bestows “Punya” manifold but is also deemed to be equivalent to bathing one crore times in the pure Triveni Sangam, confluence of  holy rivers of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
